Out of Photo Storage space on Blogger

Has anyone else got the above message when trying to upload photos on their blog? They want me to buy storage for 2.59 a month!! Do they think I am Rockefeller?? Anyone else found a work around for this? From what I have been reading it makes no sense, because I am a member of Google Plus and photos should have been automatically re-sized to less than 2048 pixels along the longest edge before being uploaded to my blog, which would mean they don't count towards my 1 GB limit. Is that 1 GB limit for the year? Your entire time on Blogger/Picasa or what?? By the way they say I have use 1.6 GB of my 1 GB storage limit.  Color me confused. With Google Plus and FB and Picasa and smart phones and syncing and this and that, the Internet is becoming more and more complicated.
They know this and I am wondering if this is some kind of set up by Google to force us to pay for this blogging service. Last year they charged $5 for the year for extra photo storage which I didn't want to pay but at least it was reasonable. Now they want 2.49 a month (which is the cheapest service)!! To blog!!! I don't think I love blogging that much. Sorry y'all. Find me here on FB -- https://www.facebook.com/deb.vintagesoul.3 where I will be till somebody fixes this crap or till FB starts charging me to store pictures too!!!!
To top it off this is about my sixth blog post this year. How could I possibly be up to the 1 GB limit in photos?? Anyone with any advice?

Have a wonderful day with lots of Vintage style.

Hi Deb,
No advise from me...only wnated to tell you, taht a danish bloggerfriend, also had this message earlier this year, and she choosed to simply delete all photoes from her earlier years blogging!! That helped, and she had much place again, also she started to compress her photoes herself automatically before adding them to her blog--that is what I also alwayes do.
Hope you find out what to do,-and hope you goes on blogging.
Hugs,Dorthe

Deb, you are like the 5th person I have heard has this problem. It makes no sense. There is a glitch somewhere.
